Introduction

Nichiren Daishonin (Buddhist philosopher) said “treating with kindness...those whose circumstances are inferior to one’s own” is one of the most significant virtues of human life.

JABALA (an ISO9001:2015 Certified) established in 1992 works with vulnerable children especially girls; young women, and youth whose lives are marginalized through the multiple axes of poverty, religion and region leading to lack of educational entitlements, violence, child marriage and trafficking, towards a future that is safe, joyous and full of hope and promise. Work to create social infrastructure, to build synergies between various stakeholders, government and civil society and enhance people’s capacities to claim, innovate and protest. Jabala is to ensure protection of rights of underprivileged children, youth and survivors of violence.

Moreover, we have wings to train students for Major/Minor College Projects, Certification Courses, Industrial training, and Skill development programs for Careers with 100% placement assistance for all categories of students.

THEORY OF CHANGE:

The Theory of change Model of Jabala revolves round the four tenets of development:

  1. i) Identify
  2. ii) Provide Materials & Services
  3. iii) Build capacities
  4. iv) Empowerment

theory

In Jabala the identified problems and needs are addressed in all the layers of ecosystem:

  1. a. Individual
  2. b. Family
  3. c. Community & Systems

Although Jabala understands & recognizes the basic needs & services to be met for the most vulnerable /underprivileged but believes that the individual capacity building must be in sync and balance with development of the families & communities through training, democratic processes, services and community building. This will create a strong sustainable & equipped community to safe guard themselves and protect their family’s interest. Communities will be further empowered to extend the reach to that round them and thus the circle of change for others can be sustained
